Metallurgical and Mechanical Test
Laboratories have been established in both the US and UK firstly to support the
group’s pre-production processing services and secondly to allow verification of
material properties and fit-for-purpose measurements against customer specifications.
Supported by on-site metallurgists and strong technical teams, these facilities enable
customers and third party inspectors to witness various forms of testing and confirm the
integrity of products before proceeding to more expensive
manufacturing operations.
The Test Laboratories are
capably of carrying out most non-destructive and mechanical tests required by industry.
These include tensile specimens with a 120,000 lbs. SATEC and impact testing on a 258
ft-lb. Tinius Olsen charpy machine. Laboratories are equipped with fume cabinets,
microscopes, micro-etching equipment, and dark room to perform a variety of other special
tests.
