GENERAL SCOPE

Alloy 725 is an age hardenable nickel based alloy containing Chromium, Iron and Molybdenum as major additions, with also similar additions of Niobium (Columbium) and Titanium.

The combination of Nickel and Chromium provide the basis for good corrosion resistance in both reducing and oxidizing atmospheres, with the significant Molybdenum content giving good pitting and corrosion resistance. The alloy is NACE MR0175 approved for use in sour wells, and has good resistance in severe sour environments containing elemental Sulphur.

A hardness level of 43 HRC max is allowed in NACE MR0175 when elemental Sulphur is not present.

Trade Name Inconel 725 (1)
