GENERAL SCOPE
 

Alloy 6061 in the temper condition T6 is one of the most widely used Aluminum alloys. Based on the 6xxx series its principal alloying elements are Magnesium and Silicon. The alloy is often supplied in the O temper, T4, T451, & T651 Temper conditions as well as the T6 temper. The alloy is approved to NACE MR0175.
 

Most common Temper designations:
O Annealed
T4 Solution Treated and Naturally aged to a Substantially Stable condition
T6 Solution Heat treated and Artificially aged.
